A CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTION AND EXCHANGE: DESIGNING AN IN-CITY CAMPUS FOR A SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE IN PARIS
As a location of project - Parc de la Villette designed by Bernard Tschumi has its valuable and unique design concept combining programmatic instability with architectural specificity. While its most important element is Cinematographic Promenade overlapping with grid system and giving a chance its visitors to travel across the themed gardens and feel the spirit of the park, Architectural promenade is similarly aiming to creat observing pathway for visitors of school to experience space, to feel hierarchy among architectural events and to roaming through the building by playful way. The building itself provides permeability between access nodes, park and residential zone by layered courtyard. As separate parts of whole system fragmented masses creating functional voids inviting people inside and attached to promenade which makes them union. Sometimes its a travel over green roofs, sometimes it is a part of main circulation as corridor or vertical circulation, sometimes it is a vista point to watch the space and consequently so it is an instruction of space.
