A CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTION AND EXCHANGE: DESIGNING AN IN-CITY CAMPUS FOR A SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE IN PARIS
Different user profiles are observed around Paris. Their connection is problematic even in our site, Parc de la Villette. Cite de la Musique, Philharmonie de Paris, science museum invite people to the park but do not act as a connection element.
To overcome the segregation, a connection element is needed; Public studios for everyone and visual relations with the school.in public studios undergraduate students and lecturers would give free basic design lectures for children. Semi-public spaces, studios and experimentation space would be visible but do not be open to public.
Also the street usage is a must in Paris as well as ENSA. The school has a street where people can observe the models on the sides and the environment. This creates a common usage axis. The street is in the middle of the school creating circulation and socialising line.
